Operation Christmas Child is a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse that demonstrates God’s love in a tangible way by delivering gift-filled shoeboxes to children in need around the world. Each shoebox is more than a gift, it is an opportunity for a child to hear the hope of the Gospel and experience the love of Jesus Christ through the local church. Since 1993, more than 244 million shoebox gifts have been distributed to children in 175+ countries and territories, making Operation Christmas Child the world’s largest Christmas project of its kind.
At Portage Community Chapel, we believe that even a simple shoebox can make an eternal impact. Each year our church family comes together to fill shoeboxes with toys, school supplies, hygiene items, and personal notes of encouragement. These gifts remind children that they are loved; not only by the person who packed the box, but by God Himself.
Every shoebox is delivered through local churches around the world, where children and their families have the opportunity to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ.
